Overview
Nigeria has the highest potential for artisan biochar and, due to its large population, a large opportunity for positive social impact. We established a regional non-profit organisation to build scaleable infrastructure, and offer our Climate Agents our long-termcommitment. A partnership with a regional Micro-Finance Bank offers participants financial inclusion and gives even the marginalised a chance to be part of the movement.

Process
Smallholder farmers that cultivate diverse crops, such as, cassava, maize, or yam, receive education on biochar production and circular farming. Once onboarded and verified after trainings and exams, they profit financially from every bag of biochar put back into their soils.

Results
Through our program farmers can access the means they need to build resilience on their farms and protect themselves against extreme weather events. The program fosters food security in a country that suffers food shortages.
